Position Overview
As a Field Application Engineer specializing in IoT products and services, you will serve as the primary technical resource for the sales team and the customer base. You will be responsible for providing product demonstrations, technical advice, training, and support to ensure successful product implementation and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical liaison between the company and customers, providing expert advice on IoT products and services.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and assist in developing solutions that meet their needs.
- Conduct product training sessions for customers and internal teams to enhance knowledge of IoT technologies and products.
- Provide on-site support to customers during product installations and configurations, ensuring smooth integration of IoT solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with customers and the engineering team.
- Gather customer feedback and insights to help inform product development and improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IoT trends, technologies, and competitive landscape.
- Assist in the creation and review of technical documentation, presentations, and application notes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Field Application Engineer or in a similar technical role within the IoT industry.
- Strong understanding of IoT architectures, protocols (MQTT, CoAP, etc.), and relevant technologies (sensors, gateways, cloud platforms).
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with embedded systems or firmware development.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.) and data analytics.
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles is a plus.
